Important Organization Changes

Dear Fragnetians,

2021 is soon coming to an end! First and foremost, I hope you, your families, and your communities are safe. We want to take a moment to say thank you for choosing us and want you to know our empathy and compassion is with those who are impacted by the virus, and we extend our heartfelt wishes for recovery.

This year introduced many changes for us, starting with the migration away from Intel's E3 CPU series to the newest Intel E series and AMD's Ryzen 5 and 9 CPU series. We then followed up with the release of our new website theme, along with a custom game panel - Fragify, which we have some exciting news to share further down this post.

Our next objective in the roadmap was to make our service more affordable while still maintaining the same level of performance and support. Since a few weeks back, we no longer charge additional fees for servers deployed in Singapore and Australia. We've also adjusted the pricing of our Minecraft packages, with CS:GO and Terraria being next on our list - with many more games to come!

Last but not least, we've added Poland's capital to our list of locations, Warsaw, due to its high demand. Dzień dobry 👋🏻

Aside from the above changes, we have a necessary announcement to make.

After a mutual agreement with our parent company - City Network International AB, we have agreed to separate ways. Since the beginning, our mission has been to provide premium hosting solutions in the Gaming market, while City has shifted focus towards compliant cloud solutions. While compliance and Gaming is a good mix, it's not something many are interested in just yet for various reasons.

That said, starting from the 1st of January, 2022 - Fragnet will operate under its own entity, Fragnet Networks International AB.

What does this mean for you?

Apart from the new entity, there won't be any significant changes to our organization. We made sure this transition will be as smooth as possible for both you and us. Instead, we will have the ability to expand our services in certain regions, starting with Sweden.

Roadmap

It is uncommon for us to share our vision and plan for the following year, so we hope you are as excited as we are!

Here is a glance. Unfortunately, we cannot include any upcoming games or services that will be offered in the future but should give you an idea about what we will be working on in 2022!

Stockholm and Dedicated Servers offering

We are excited to announce that we plan a network and hardware migration in Sweden, starting mid-January.

This migration will introduce new AMD-based hardware (5600X and 5950X), super-fast RAM and storage, along with better DDoS protection.

Along with the game server migration to the newer network and hardware, we will open up our offerings to rent your own dedicated server. Stay tuned for an upcoming announcement on which we will go deeper into a product overview and the hardware selection!

Gaming Desktop as a Service

Like you, we love Gaming but have realized that while there is a pandemic affecting the ability to attend events and gaming cafes, you may not have the opportunity to enjoy gaming as much. On top of that, graphics card prices have doubled/tripled - thus limiting you to enjoy games at full resolutions.

Having that said, we are looking into offering a platform where you can spawn your virtual computer on which you can work, play, or experiment with.

We will return back at this later in 2022 to share some of our progress!

Fragify 2.0

Fragify has been an exciting project to work on. However, it has unfortunately been challenging to attract developers interested in taking it to the next level.

Nevertheless, we are happy to announce that we have found a perfect match to join our team at the beginning of the new year! Stay tuned as we will unveil some of the features and the plan forward in Q1!

Product changes

Apart from focusing on offering services with high-performance standards, we aim to simplify specific tasks such as the server's configuration and mod/addon installation. This is why we introduced Fragify. Our team is currently working on finishing the setup of new knowledgebase articles and porting over support for CS:GO, Terraria and Rust. We have plans to look into DayZ; however, we believe the best would be to wait for the Linux server build to mature more.

Team expansion

We are constantly looking for young talents looking to join us; whether you love customer support or writing code in React, Laravel, Go or TypeScript.

Stay safe and happy holidays,

Ioannis and the Fragnet Team
